^nah taking out his mind control was really easy, his gattling tech was way worse. Though I did use to love taking enemy units and sending them into the grinder so I could get rich quick.

It’s often said that “if he passes 20 without experiencing a woman a man will become a magician."
I haven't played RA2 online, but as far as I've experienced, bad things with Yuri were the Brutes. As they were supposed to be anti-tank infantry, they're very weak against groups of GI's, Pillboxes and Sentry Guns. They really can't do much imo.

Not to mention once you got higher-tech units that can deal with these pesky units while also handling the rest fine, you just ain't building brutes.
Yuri units were on the whole quite good enough. Heck, I even won a game against my friends while using a combination rush of Lasher tanks and Gattling Tanks against all sides.
I will respect your opinion as long as you respect mine.
One thing I felt was that Yuri's army was just lacking some units like an anit-aircraft infantry and more naval units.
What was wrong with Yuri? He was a total lunatic, and he isn't Dr. Zelinsky!
Oh, wait... As a faction. OIC. I actually loved the Yuri faction. My favorite. My complaint is that his low tech stuff was very good, but his higher tech stuff was junk. (Except for his superweapons)
Pretty much all factions in RA2 lacked navy. Sadly, Yuri lacked the most.
I kinda think his Mastermind could have been better for sure. Why couldn't it be a more powerful version of the initiate psionic attack, and has a secondary function to when deployed, allows it to mind control nearby units around it? That way the Mastermind becomes a real threat instead of threatening to explode.

^just have the units you take over kill each other or only take over a few at a time. Or if you are defending you're base with it send the units you take over into the Grinder for some cash. Problem solved no mastermind overload boom.

I found probably the easiest way to take out a mastermind is to mass send it a million units until it explodes.
Oh and nobody mentioned the chaos drone. I never played YR multiplayer... did anyone ever use that thing?

Yuri isn't that tough. Sure he has mind control but he lacks in:
-Naval AA
-Low-cost fast-attack aircraft
-AA infantry
-NO HEAVILY ARMORED MEAT SHIELDS THAT CAN PROTECT HIS OTHER UNITS (Lashers are a bit weak compared to Allied vehicles and all the other units are primarily offense)
-Poor artillery (Magnetrons suck compared to Prisms/V3)
-Yuri units tend to be more expensive than other faction's units
The bottom line: Yuri is very vulnerable to an infantry spam. Because all of Yuri's best units are designed to counter single powerful units, and there aren't that many of them, use the strength in numbers. If he brings Gatt tanks throw in your own tanks. Use low-tier units to rush and overwhelm him.
