BETA UPLINK SERIES PART 4 - SUPPORT CLASS

With the Support Class, not only can you take the fight to the skies, but you have access to a plethora of support powers to help your teammates or annihilate the enemy.

Support Class players can quickly span the map with their forces to help their allies through speedy aircraft, support powers, and destructive strikes. While the Support Class is very quick, many of their units are not armored enough to take on enemy forces head to head as easily as the Offense Class. However, teching up to tier 3 will give you access to the mighty GDI Kodiak or Nod Leviathan, the slow moving nightmares of the skies. Support Powers consume Support Points that charge up throughout the match in three different ways – naturally over time, buffing allies or debuffing enemies, and dealing damage. The Support Class has the most tricks up their sleeves, offering countless strategies to anyone who can master their massive toolset. Play as a medic and heal your teammates or build Firehawks to bomb your enemies into oblivion – the possibilities are endless.

Support Class Tips:

1. While the Support class cannot capture TCN nodes with air units, you can quickly traverse the map to neutralize undefended enemy TCN nodes to stop your opponent’s trickle of victory points.
   
   
2. Keep an eye on mini-map alerts! See when your allies need help and react quickly. Support class players can turn the tides of battle very quickly, but need to work closely with their teammates.
   
   
3. Aircraft such as the GDI Firehawk reload much faster if they are in the Crawler’s repair radius. Fly your Crawler closer to the fight to ensure you are getting the most out of your bombing units.
   
   
4. Team play will grant you the most Support Points to use for Support Powers. Help to dish out damage while healing your teammates, rather than going 1 on 1 against an opponent.
   
   
5. YOU as a Support Player are the only class to have support powers. Make it your job to master the many strategies behind these powers to become a force to be reckoned with.

Here are some examples of GDI Support Class units and powers:

Orca

At first glance, the Orca Mk. V is extraordinarily similar to its predecessors - a sleek, flexible VTOL aircraft that combines the maneuverability and reinforced armor of its larger cousin, the Hammerhead, with the rapid battlefield traversal abilities of a more traditional fixed wing aircraft. Under the hood, however, the upgrades have been significant; notably, improved handling and an upgraded vector thrust VTOL system that allows the Orca to move in reverse, albeit at a slightly slower rate than its forward momentum.

Kodiak

The Kodiak is GDI’s behemoth of the skies. Patterned after the Kodiak of the Second Tiberium War, these new vessels are not command ships, but powerful weapons of war. Instantly recognized by Nod as a force to be reckoned with, this heavy capital ship contains three blast artillery turrets that can fire at ground targets and excel at taking down structures or clumps of units. Kodiaks are also armed with machine gun batteries along their topside to protect them from enemy aircraft.

Sonic Artillery

This tier 4 power fires dangerous sonic artillery shells into a selected area. Each shell does AOE damage and EMPs any enemy units in the area, rendering them helpless for several seconds. Using this power allows your aircraft and allied attack units to quickly rip apart a defenseless army.

Seismic Disturbance

GDI taps into the Tiberium Control Network with the Seismic Disturbance power and causes an earthquake, reducing the speed and dodge of all enemy units as well as unburrowing all subterranean units and unstealthing all cloaked units. As long as the earthquake is active, enemy units cannot burrow. However, this power does not affect aircraft.

Here are some examples of Nod Support Class units and powers:

Venom

The use of Venom aircraft became more popular after the Third Tiberium War, as rebel Nod forces found them extremely effective at quickly taking out TCN nodes around the globe. Their small and light design has made them quick to produce, and their speed makes them among the fastest aircraft on the battlefield.

Leviathan

The Leviathan brings a rain of fire down upon its enemies. This beast contains 3 fireball launchers that can toast any ground units unfortunate enough to be in the shadows of the Leviathan. Upgraded Leviathans can also strike with a wing of sortie drones, small maneuverable fighters that can operate without placing the Leviathan in danger.

Risen Monolith

This tier 4 power unburrows a "Megalisk" at a player selected spot on the map. This Mega-Obelisk of Light can tear through enemy heavy units and can also plug into a network of Obelisks to enhance each others’ firepower.

Subterranean Strike

This power causes several large drills to burst from the ground and damage any units in the immediate vicinity. Although limited to ground targets, few players will be able to predict when or where you will pull the ground out from under them.
